An industry professional for 15 years, Joy is a versatile, collaborative storyteller who finds her spark crafting narratives across film, audio, and emerging genres.

A graduate of New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts’s Kanbar Institute for Film & TV, she started her production career with film credits on Sam Mendes’ Away We Go, Noah Baumbach’s Greenberg, and Emily Hubley’s The Toe Tactic.

In 2011, she joined the team at Audible and forged her technique alongside many talented creators, shaping hundreds of projects for Audible Studios and Audible Originals across all genres and aspects of production.

Joy’s editing and mastering can be heard on Rachel McAdams’ performance of Anne of Green Gables, while her casting can be experienced on Scott McCormick’s hilarious Rivals series - a 14 hander brilliantly performing over 128 characters - and her creative direction is woven throughout Highlights’ original musical podcast, Lola Chick!

She pivoted for a few years to build the video department for Audible’s headquarters, servicing both in-house and promotional creative needs.

Drawn back into the world of audio, Joy blended her production expertise with the creative minds at Audible Studios in London, supporting industry heroes Dirk Maggs on Alien: Sea of Sorrows, performed by Laurel Lefkow and a full cast, Barnaby Edwards’ epic trilogy, Scarlet City, performed by Miriam Margoyles and a full cast, and Robert Valentine’s dramatization of Little Women, performed by Laura Dern and a full cast.

Finding her sweet spot in producing and directing multicast audio dramas, Joy teamed up with the creators at Ambient Studios in 2019 to produce a series of interactive audio adventures for Alexa, including ChooseCo’s Choose Your Own Adventure, and Paizo’s pilot season of Starfinder.

In 2022, Joy became a Rebel Girl, joining the global girl empowerment brand as Head of Audio, where she led production and developed the audio content strategy alongside a small but mighty team of creatives. Over the next two years, her team created over 200 episodes amplifying amazing women and girls for the Good Night Stories for Rebel Girls podcast, and their storytelling was honored with multiple awards, including 4 Webby Awards and 13 Signal Awards.

Joy continues to build with the incredible team at Rebel Girls as Head of Digital Content, leading the audio and video content strategy and developing new formats. She finds her inspiration collaborating with artists across all disciplines, and building worlds for audiences to delight and dream in.
